The recent Susan G. Komen concerns have many people on different sides of the issues. As we go a little deeper into this topic, first and foremost I want people to remember all of the GOOD things that Susan G. Komen does for breast cancer patients everywhere. Regarding Planned Parenthood, my guest Abby Johnson has been on both sides of this issue. Abby was a former Planned Parenthood director at a large Texas clinic who is now a highly visible pro-life advocate and author. Abby and thousands of others believe that Komen should not donate money given to them for breast cancer research to abortion providers, especially given studies that link breast cancer to abortions. Treatment S.O.S. will be rebroadcast on Saturday, February 25th at 4:00 p.m. EST on www.W4WN.com.

What does your overall appearance say about you? Actually, more than you might think. Your hair, eyes, feet, nails and skin can speak volumes about what’s going on inside your body. Or are you tired, grumpy, have mood swings, weight gain and not feeling like yourself anymore? Have you noticed that it’s harder to do things you used to do? Do you notice that you no longer have the clarity, quickness and vitality you used to? Do you have a chronic disease that could be better managed? It doesn’t have to be that way. You can live younger and healthier. Dr. Lorraine Maita is a recognized and award-winning physician and author, transforming people’s lives through preventive and anti-aging medicine.

Chemotherapy works by killing fast-growing cancer cells. Unfortunately, chemotherapy drugs can’t always tell the difference between cancer cells and fast-growing healthy cells. As a result, one of the potential side effects of many types of chemotherapy drugs can be a low white blood cell count. A low number of a specific type of white blood cells called neutrophils—also known as neutropenia—can put some patients at risk for infections and may interrupt chemo treatment. My guest Theresa Gratton is an instructor with Chasing4Life, a national disaster preparedness organization based out of the Midwest, and she will help us with insights on how to be proactive against germs when the patient is neutropenic. Treatment S.O.S. will be rebroadcast on Saturday, February 18th at 4:00 p.m. on www.W4WN.com.
