DIAGNOSIS S.O.S., Tues., May 22, 2:00 p.m. EST, W4WN.com and W4CS.com, rebroadcast at 2:00 p.m. May 26

After a grim diagnosis with advanced breast cancer, Lori Lober used her knowhow that has left her cancer-free for a decade. Her friend, Laura Myer, supported her in spite of her own diagnosis with hepatitis C. She wrote Lori a birthday poem, which they have turned into a children’s book to help families dealing with cancer: Princess Elle and her Isle of Capri. One day a little girl living on an island notices that things are amiss, and soon she is in the clutches of a powerful dragon called C for carcinoma. The book is beautifully illustrated with pastel colors and love by Angie Prindle, the daughter of a cancer survivor. As a team, they have woven through the pages of this beautiful book a masterpiece to help children understand cancer. And, yes, it has a happy ending! I’m so pleased to have these incredible women on my show.
