On her 37th birthday, Barbara heard the words, “You have breast cancer”, which changed everything in a moment. As a sex educator and workshop facilitator for 20+ years, she has supported many women and their partners and families along the breast cancer journey; interviewed hundreds of women about their experiences and needs; worked with support groups on the subject of sexuality and intimacy; presented to tumor boards and interviewed many surgeons, plastic surgeons and oncologists about the subject. A dear friend undergoing her second breast cancer said, “I think this is your work, helping women remember who they are.” That was when Sexy After Cancer was born.
