“Where’s the beef” that’s loaded with everything from hormones to antibiotics? A recently released Harvard University study revealed that “eating a single serving of red meat per day might increase the risk of early death by 13 percent”. Ranchers have been feeding antibiotics to the animals we eat for decades. Small doses of antibiotics administered daily make animals gain more weight. Also, one of the reasons we could be seeing so many women going through early menopause and such severe perimenopause symptoms at such an early age is due to the use of hormones in our meat supply. “Pink slime” (addition of the low-cost, ammonia-treated beef filler that comes from leftover cuts of meat) is now on the children’s school lunchroom menus. My guest is Prescott Frost owner of Prescott Farms in Nebraska, a company that is poised to shake up the sustainable food marketplace with its line of certified-organic, 100-percent grass-fed beef. (This show will also be rebroadcast on Saturday, March 24th, at 2:00 p.m. EST on W4WN.)
