My guest is Dr. Daniel Kelly, a neurosurgeon and medical director of The Brain Tumor Center at Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, CA. He is also an active member at the John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica. Dr. Kelly is a national expert on metastatic brain cancer having pioneered new minimally invasive surgical techniques to remove brain tumors. He will explain the causes of these tumors, the most effective diagnostic and treatment tools, and why this diagnosis does not have to be a death sentence because of the new treatments that are now available to patients. The four primary cancers that metastasize to the brain are lung, breast, kidney, and melanoma. Many families are affected by metastatic brain cancer; I know this too well, because it took my husband, Gordon.
