Guest: Stephanie Zimmerman, BSN, MSN, Survivor and Co-Founder of My Heart, Your Hands: the story of late effects of cancer treatment. Stephanie discusses the impact that cancer has had throughout her lifetime on her family. A special focus will be on how Stephanie’s parents provided for her even in terms of education on her risk for late effects of cancer treatment. It’s a good thing. In 2008, her heart failed secondary to the chest radiation and Doxorubicin used to cure her Ewing’s Sarcoma 3 decades before. Stephanie subsequently underwent heart transplantation. My Heart, Your Hands in cooperation with Second, Second Chance helps to provide funding for those suffering from late effects of cancer treatment.
